MBCo. & DoodleBike Headbadge Collaboration
Faith Walsh and Rob Cerrato met in 2008 in NYC and have been friends ever since. Little did they know when they met that they would someday be collaborating on the project of the century: handmade bicycle headbadges featuring different NYC critters.
Rob is a very talented graphic designer with a creative project called DoodleBike and Faith is a professional metalsmith with a background in fine jewelry; between Rob’s illustration skills and Faith’s metal skills, a collaboration was a recipe for success!
Although they both now reside in Mystic, CT, they lived in NYC for 13 & 14 years, respectively. An ode to the critters that everyone has a love/hate relationship with seemed like a great place to start!
You don’t have to have lived in NYC to have heard of the infamous Pizza Rat, or to know that pigeons will eat pretty much anything they find on the pavement. Although, I recently tried to feed some veggies to a pigeon and it was NOT having it.
This timelapse video shows the many changes that each critter went through before they reached perfection status. Enjoy!
